He then has a triangular head with large, broad ears and blue or green almond-shaped eyes. The body of Peterbald, all in length, is thin and muscular and gives it a particularly slender look. Its legs are long with a thin frame. It sports a long tail that looks like a whip.

Origin of Peterbald

The Peterbald is from Russia and, as its name suggests, more precisely from St. Petersburg. It comes from the cross of a male Donskoy, cat with bare skin, and an Eastern female, breed of cat very elegant, then cross between Orientals and Siamese. Established in 1994, the Peterbald was officially recognized in Russia in 1996. It is still quite rare in Europe.

It requires a lot of attention. Badly supporting loneliness, he is always looking for human contact or another pet, cat or dog. The Peterbald is a very affectionate cat who loves caresses and particularly appreciates the presence of children. Like the Siamese from which he descends, the Peterbald is a talkative cat.

How to take care of your Peterbald: his needs

The Peterbald does not require any special maintenance. But some cats of this breed have the characteristic to sweat a lot. It is advisable to give them a bath once a week or to rub them regularly with a wet washcloth.

His ears tend to get dirty quickly, so it's important to clean them regularly, just like his eyes. Because of its lack of hair, it is particularly afraid of heat and especially the sun, as well as the cold.
