On 950 m2 abundant and varied vegetation arranges with the works of Max Sauze, contemporary artist, and determines stagings composed according to a rigorously organized disorder: "The Angelus of Millet", "The Library of the squirrel", "The Brodules", "The wall of books", "The Bascine", "The Blue Trees"...
Initially it was an abandoned vegetable garden with small cement irrigation channels, an old apricot tree, a huge plane tree, a large lime tree, an old cherry tree, an old pear tree, a small palm tree and barren vines. Over time, a metamorphosis was accomplished thanks to a rigorous maintenance and the nature that knew how to impose its law.
Today, over 950 m2, an abundant and varied vegetation arranges with the works of Max Sauze, contemporary artist, and determines stagings composed according to a rigorously organized disorder: "The Angelus of Millet", "The Library Squirrel "," The Brodules "," The Wall of Books "," The Bascine "," The Blue Trees "...
In this luxuriant vegetal world, the sculptures, a hundred, sometimes borrows from nature some of its elements. They are "shown-hidden". Thus the marriage between the natural and the artificial refined over the years with disappearances, repairs, radical transformations or births as a result of accidental accidents.
Eguilles Garden opened for the first time to the public in 1989. Since then, it has been awarded the "Outstanding Garden" label by the Ministry of Culture and Communication. An original garden that creates a poetic space in the heart of the village.
