The garden of medicinal plants of Saint Mark la Lande reminds us that the Antonine monks used, for the care of the pain of burns, a preparation composed of 14 plants. Of recent creation, this garden also brings together local plants known for their healing or dangerous reputations.
The conservatory orchard of Saint Marc la Lande has 107 varieties of apples, 58 varieties of pears, 18 varieties of grapes and 17 varieties of roses. As soon as the fruits are ripe, they are offered tasting to visitors. Created by the municipality, this orchard is intended to keep the memory of many species that have become rare. It is a place of calm and relaxation particularly pleasant in the afternoon.
The garden of medicinal plants and the conservatory orchard of Saint Marc la Lande are communal properties and are part of an architectural and landscaping set consisting of these gardens, the Commandery of the Antonines (listed monument of the seventeenth century) and the Collegiate ( listed monument of the 16th century).
