Graham sage is a shrub with fine leaves and many small flowers very slightly scented. It offers persistent foliage that is not bushy. The leaves are 2-4 cm long and are triangular, elliptical or oval. They are glabrous, dark green in color and lined with rounded teeth.

Clusters of flowers that bloom throughout the summer are composed of flowers of about 2 cm, in pairs or whorls, red to pink.

Its hardiness is rather good since sheltered from cold winds and in a well drained soil, it can resist to a little more than -12° C. On the contrary, it is also very resistant to drought. Its growth is fast enough.
